ME

NICOLA WILCOCKS

So it’s a privilege now to be that someone for other people. To support and challenge them in a time of change and watch them flourish as they realise their ambitions, hopes and dreams, or simply see a clearer path to reaching their goals.

I’ve done a great many other jobs on the way to this one. I've worked in HR and banking, taught English to overseas students, looked after 60 teenage boys in a school (my chocolate nut tiffin was the stuff of legend) and run the admissions office of a busy theological college. I have a degree in English and American Studies, a Postgraduate Diploma in HR, a Postgraduate Certificate in Personal and Business Coaching and a certificate in Counselling. I’ve also raised a family, lived and studied overseas, dealt with significant health issues, lived with chronic pain and successfully navigated many life transitions myself.

Yet perhaps the thing that serves me best in coaching is my consistent curiosity – about people, about what makes them tick, about how they can be encouraged to achieve more than they think is possible, about the best way to live our lives with humour, authenticity, satisfaction and joy, especially during the challenging times.

So if you’d like to explore those things either personally or professionally, and would value practical support, insight and guidance for that journey, then I would love to work with you.

WHEN I BEGAN MY WORKING LIFE, COACHING DIDN'T EXIST.

Looking back, I can see how valuable it would have been. How useful to have had someone to support and challenge me – to help me tap into and cultivate my strengths and creativity. Someone who could evaluate different options with me and help me get out of my own way. Someone more objective than me who wasn't a parent, friend, or boss with their own agenda – however well-meant.
